Note: This character profile doesn't follow the standard character sheet. Yeah, I'm a freaking rebel (: But don't copy me. Not all of us were born to be wild. Use the character sheet.
Home: Ernest grew up in a small town, the kind where everyone knows everyone else, and all dirty laundry is free game. But there was never any dirty laundry. The entire town waltzed around with rose coloured glasses, and because of this, Ernest only knows the feeling of a loving, positive community. While he wasn’t the youngest in the town, he was definitely the baby of the community, for his loveable, bumbling and naïve nature.
Upbringing: His parents raised him in a God-loving household. Service every Sunday, youth group on Friday nights, and morning worship every day before school—it’s all Ernest knows. He has never been able to form his own beliefs. He believes what he is told—some may call him gullible. He is definitely not a religious person, but he “loves” God and the Bible because that’s what he knows, and how he was raised. He’s never had the chance to discover what he believes in personally. He doesn’t question his parents.
The not quite small down attitude: So these strange feelings he’s getting around other boys, that warm flush of his pale skin, his elevated heart rate and sweaty palms? Ernest couldn’t tell you what that means for the life of him. The concept of sex for pleasure is lost on him. He has no idea beyond the concept of marrying a woman and having a child. Throughout his childhood, he was outrageously sheltered.
The Snapshot: He’s an awkwardly tall boy, with long, thin limbs. He almost has more body that he can deal with. His hair it jet black and thick, prone to unfashionable haircuts. His smile is his trademark; when he cracks one, it takes over his entire face. It crinkles up his eyes ‘til they’re almost closed, stretches his cheeks, and scrunches up his nose. He has a mouth that seems almost handcrafted for these dorky smiles. His rose coloured lips are full and wide, and frame his pearly whites. His two front teeth are a smidge longer than the rest. He has heavily lidded navy blue eyes, framed by thick lashes that give him a feminine look. He has a big nose that he’s self conscious about.
Mannerisms: Often, Ernest tries to pass off as shorter than he actually is. He walks with hunched shoulders and a lowered head, gangling arms often crossing across his small torso, or hands grasping together in front of him. He often makes sharp, bird like movements. When he’s nervous (which is 90% of his life), he has facial twitches—he’ll blink quickly, or his lips will quiver between a smile and a frown. He has a hard time making eye contact with people, and when he does, a blush is almost unavoidable. He has a habit of biting his nails and forefinger.
Speaking habits: Ernest is soft spoken. He’s never really acknowledged his voice as feminine, because no one talked about it back in his old town. But his voice is high and frail, often with a slight stutter or quiver. He drops off in the middle of his sentences frequently, and talks over himself. His conversations are always punctuated with his soft, nervous giggles.
Ernest the Child: Because of how he was raised and the sheltered life he’s lived, Ernest is still a little boy at heart. This has both positive and negative aspects to it. On the one hand, he is able to see things with an unbiased mind. He still looks at the world through the eyes of a child, and is still amazed by the little things in life. He can lie in the grass and watch passing cloud formations with rapt wonder. He can sit crisscross applesauce and be fascinated by an ant colony carrying leaves to their hill. On the other side of the coin, however, Ernest is naïve and fragile. He’s been sheltered from the pains of the world, and doesn’t know some of the horrors out there. He trusts and believes blindly, and is easily swayed and possibly manipulated by other people. If he were ever to get hurt by another person, it would be catastrophic because he has never known feelings of strong hatred, betrayal or pain.
Ernest the Optimist: To him, everything is peachy. The world is beautiful, everything will turn out all right, and there is no point in being sad. Sure, Ernest has been faced with problems. He’s ‘fought’ with his parents, been worried by school, been nervous about friends. But he is a firm believer in being happy. He chooses not to be sad, chooses to believe everything will turn out for the better. To anyone who doesn’t share this ideology, this trait could be obnoxious, because Ernest fails to grasp the negative side of things.
Ernest the Nervous Wreck: Oh, goodness. Ernest has the hardest time communicating with other people. He is shy and anxious around other people, and tends to gravitate toward small groups. He is extremely uncomfortable in being the center of attention, or even a part of a large group. He gets butterflies in his stomach, stares at the ground, and can’t form coherent sentences. This wasn’t a huge problem back in his small town, where everyone babied him and his tendencies. Now that he’s going to Eddingborough, though…he’s having problems making friends.
Ernest the Nerd: Since coming to Eddingborough, Ernest has poured himself into his studies. He feels like he doesn’t deserve to be at such a prestigious school, especially when he’s from such a small town. He’s there on scholarship, and he needs to keep up his grades to keep it. But he studies to learn, not to get the grades. He is fascinated by everything. He loves being sucked into a good work of literature, loves how everything in arithmetic just works, loves the sound of speaking French. His guilty pleasure is Greek Mythology, even though some of the myths make him blush and snap the book closed. He allows himself to get lost in studying and homework, and so far, has been making meticulously perfect marks.
Ernest the Daydreamer: Ernest has this problem with reverie. His frequently sinks into his subconscious, submitting to his daydreams. Sometimes he has a hard time connecting with the outside world while he’s doing so, and is content in staring into space for hours on end. It probably comes from his lack of freedom growing up, how frequently the church squashed any random thoughts he might’ve had. He always had something specific he needed to be thinking about; bible verses, chores, volunteer work, homework. Daydreaming is the only time he’s allowed any freedom.

Talents: He is incredibly talented at playing the piano. His mother began teaching him from a very young age. Also, he’s a fierce reader, if you could call that a talent.
Likes: Winter, playing piano, warm scarves, reading, writing in his diary, daydreaming, going on walks, watching clouds, studying, singing in the shower (the one time he raises his voice from his standard bumble)
Dislikes: Extreme heat, when his father is angry or disappointed with him, people who are needlessly mean, messy rooms, being around too many people, confrontation.
Fears: The dark is the highest on the list. He sleeps with a nightlight. He’s also afraid of not living up to his father’s expectations.
Strengths: He’s genuinely kind and caring. Even though he has a hard time communicating with other people, when he does, he cares deeply about what they have to say, how they’re feeling, and if they’re happy. He cares about connecting with people on a deeper level.
Weaknesses: Communication. As hard as he tries, Ernest just freezes up around people (mostly around boys, which is a problem at school). He’s easily flustered. He is also easily manipulated, gullible and doesn’t have a strong sense of who he is.
He tears up easily because of anxiety or embarrassment.
He is too nice for his own good. He has a difficult time standing up for himself, can be a pushover, and will mostly let people walk all over him. This may be a problem with this new "partner" thing.
Dreams: Superficially, he dreams of growing up to be exactly like his father. He dreams what he thinks he’s supposed to be dreaming. He plans to follow in his father’s footsteps as Pastor, marry a wholesome, Godly woman, and have two children named Ruth and Matthew.
At school, he dreams of singing in the choir.
Secretly, he wants to travel the world, trying all sorts of candy and chocolate. His sweet tooth is incredible.

Simply put, Ernest is the cutest thing you will ever see. But to put it long, his personality can be divided up into the following.
